Project Details
I worked on Samsung’s Product Innovation Team during the early development of The Frame TV, a television designed to look like real artwork when you’re not watching it. The Frame mixes Art Mode, customizable bezels and curated collections to blend into your home, and later added Generative Art, which creates evolving visuals based on things like color, time of day and user preferences. My role was all about exploring how motion and interaction could make the experience feel smooth, intentional and art-focused. I helped shape a motion design language that worked naturally whether someone used the remote or voice control, and I led a small team building prototypes and generative studies for the concept.
R&R:
- Explore motion ideas for the early vision of The Frame
- Develop motion design language for both remote and voice input
- Lead a small team creating prototypes and generative visuals
- Support the Visual Design team with motion systems for Art Mode and ambient behavior
Project Success:
- The Frame has gone on to become one of Samsung’s most successful lifestyle TVs, with more than 2 million units sold globally
- It consistently ranks as one of Samsung’s top premium TV lines
- Art Mode and Generative Art have helped define Samsung’s reputation for design-forward home technology
