Project Details
During my time on the Samsung Milk Music design team, I worked on extending Samsung’s music streaming service to wearable devices. Milk Music originally launched on phones as a simple, radio-style streaming app built around a large, interactive dial that let users spin between genres and stations instantly. It focused on fast, effortless music discovery with minimal UI and no setup required.
For the wearable version, the experience had to feel just as fluid—but on a much smaller screen. Samsung’s rotating bezel became the core of the interaction, letting users physically turn through stations just like the original dial. My focus was on motion and interaction design, making the interface feel responsive, smooth and tactile on the wrist. I also created product walkthrough videos and marketing highlight reels that helped communicate the experience across internal teams and launch materials.
R&R:
- Developed motion design system
- Lead interaction design
- Create product walkthrough videos explaining features and user flows
- Produced highlight reels showcasing the wearable experience for marketing and leadership
Project Success:
- Milk Music surpassed **30 million downloads** worldwide across Samsung devices
- Successfully translated the dial-based experience to the wearable’s rotating bezel
- Motion and interaction patterns along with walkthrough videos became key reference material for future media experiences on Samsung wearables
